I thought many of you might have the same feeling and I should clarify the situation here. If you read that blog post again, I clearly mentioned that the upgrade will be sent for free to everyone. What I have mentioned is, only those who want to buy the NEXT version of the theme, will need to pay the difference amount because, it is not a technical upgrade but it will have almost double the features that is taking me most of my time, efforts and costing me financially. Perhaps I should clear the things once again. I will be sending..
WP remix Upgrade for free to everyone: The remix editor plugin is almost ready for beta testing. I will be sending the upgraded theme with the plugin, documentation and change log to every current buyer for free. All the future technical updates (for example, next version of wordpress releases and I need to change the theme/plugin code) will be sent for free to all the buyers forever.
WP Remix next version: Perhaps I should have named this as different name such as WP Remix Pro etc. that would not have created the confusion. WP Remix next version will have almost/more than double the features and many more functionalities than currently I am offering in the wpremix theme. Obviously these things takes me time, efforts, financial cost etc. which I believe should be covered from the next version buyers. In next few days, I will publish all the features of the next version of the theme that will clear the confusion. And yes, I am not going to charge big amount for upgrade. Though I will not disclose the price at this moment, rest assured it will be less than what others are charging and offering 1/4 functionalities than wpremix theme.
Please let me know your views and I will consider whatever possible.
Asking for more suggestions, ideas and plugins compatibility for WP Remix 2.0
First off, thanks to all those for the suggestions via comments in my previous blog post asking suggestions for next version of the wpremix theme. However, I also do need following suggestions, complaints and your ideas to improve the wpremix.
- Multi Lingual Support: If any of the current wpremix theme users are using/have tried the wpremix theme in other languages, please let me know your experience, how you did it, the problems faced etc.
- Plugins Compatibility: Same goes for the plugin compatibility. Please let me know if you have tried famous plugins with the wpremix theme and it did not work, how you fixed it etc.
And More: I will ask for more feedbacks as I get the idea but I would be great if you guys could send more feedbacks and Ideas.
Update: FAQ on Next version of the WP Remix theme and RemixEditor Plugin
The response to my last post asking suggestions for the next version of the WP Remix is quite good and inspiring. Most of the comments has not been published in order to keep the ideas secret unless I come up with the next version. As discussed with the RemixEditor plugin developer, the plugin will be ready for private alpha testing in two days. Once I will check the things, the plugin will be sent to the selected few beta testers.
I have got few comments/mails asking for clarifications on the next version of the wpremix theme. I would answer most of the questions here that will help the current customers for sure.
- Do the current customers get RemixEditor Plugin for free?
Yes, all the current buyers will receive RemixEditor plugin for free along with the change log and Tweaked wpremix theme. - Do the current customers get free upgrade to WP Remix 2?
WP Remix 2 will be prized at a bit higher price. However, the current version buyers will need to pay only the amount difference to get the next version of the theme. - Will be the difference in code between current version and next version of the wpremix theme?
Yes. It will really be almost impossible to publish the change log as it will have better, strategic code, more and better templates etc. To make the theme work as CMS in ideal way, the code will be written to work best with the remix editor plugin.

What would you like to have in WP Remix version 2.0?
As mentioned in my last post, Remix Editor plugin is not so far now. The original idea of the wpremix theme was/is this..
- To use wordpress as a basic platform
- The theme should allow users to create small websites via wordpress, using it as a small CMS.
- To provide maximum possible layouts that are generally used in a website so the user/developer could focus on designing rather than coding and testing.
- and so on..
While the current theme offers many custom page templates, there were many suggestions by users on improving the theme on design, coding, page template and other perspectives. Finally, I have decided to release second version of the WP Remix theme. I am rapidly working on improving the theme, include additional templates, functionality, usability etc.
Also the wpremix site will offer detailed documentation on each template, tutorials, support forum and other additional help. Remix editor plugin will allow users to insert, edit and publish the page templates in visual editor. That will certainly be of much help to the users.
Apart from that, I would now request all the users to please comment on this post and let me know your ideas and suggestions on, what would you like to include/improve in the next version of the theme that would make WP Remix, the best theme for wordpress.
