Latest 4.0 News Release
Sometimes it takes time, in this case it has taken quite a bit. We had to drag Paul Simpson back out of mothballs to get the update moving in a forward direction that was even worth mentioning. This is better news than it sounds since before we were not even past the decision making point of what kind of changes would be made. We took a heavy hit when we got nothing for our coding investment and had to start again with the leftovers of unfinished code from the previous programmer. Though there still is not a release date, trust me when I say that the changes will be more to everyone’s desires. The theme is going through a full bottoms-up overhaul in it’s functionality. The ever popular theme templates that have made Remix so exciting will remain as the themes primary benefit but how the theme works from a WordPress “Admin Panel” will change dramatically. There will be improvements beyond just the theme options panel in the dashboard but I am not at liberty to discuss them currently. As WordPress has evolved so have themes and the way they work. Though many themes work differently, there are certain trends and expectations that most people are gravitating toward. We have adopted many of these pseudo standards observed in many popular themes. I will be posting more later as info becomes more freely available to speak about. The mere fact that I have made this post gives me hope, so hang in there.
Stay posted, as we will when the time comes be looking for a few select people to serve themselves up as guinea pigs for our Beta testing. It is still early but we are definitely moving forward once again.

TEAM REMIX
4.0 Development Update
Valued WPRemix Customers,
If you are subscribed to our RSS feed you will be notified of the 4.0 release, please do not email us for an update through our Contact Form or standard email. This is where the announcement will be made when the new version becomes available.
We currently are looking for a replacement programmer as the previous was not meeting our requirements. This has resulted in our 4.0 update being late to market. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Inevitably all businesses suffer setbacks from time to time and this one could not have come at a more difficult time. Please be patient with us while we get this issue under control. It is not easy to have a new programmer pick up where the previous left off.
For now please be advised 3.0 Remix is compatible with WordPress 3.01. The only features that are not supported by Remix in the 3.01 WordPress are the new advanced menu features. These features however can be duplicated with the two plug-ins “PageMash” and Page Links To”.
On another note regarding this Blog: As the Product Manager, I am always concerned with what our customers needs are. I regret the problems mentioned in this post. It is after all a real world we live in and sometimes it deals you a lousy hand of cards. We are working diligently to get all issues of concern under control.
In closing I would like to say that this Blog will have less frequent posts than some of you may feel a Blog should have. This is because the WPRemix Blog is not an everyday discussion as some and ourselves might wish it to be, our schedule and priorities currently are going to have to take precedence over everyday chat. So if posts are infrequent, please realize it is because of the a-fore mentioned items of concern. Our focus is to get caught up as quickly as possible, though it is proving to be a challenge sourcing adequate programming skills for our planned enhancements to the theme.
For now, stay subscribed please . . .

4.0 Release in Development
Let’s get down to NEW Business,
Our former Marketing Mgr. Paul Simpson is no longer with the company R5 Ltd.. Paul chose to move on with personal pursuits of his own in niche marketing. We at Remix wish Paul well, he was an asset during his tenure with TEAM Remix.
Our programmer is hard at work on WPRemix 4.0. This new release will be fully compatible with WordPress 3.0. Please be patient while we put the finishing touches on the final release. Programming takes time and always lags WordPress for awhile, so check back for updates as to the availability of WPRemix 4.0.
Though WPRemix 3.0 is some what compatible with WordPress 3.0 it does not fully support all of the latest WP features. We do not recommend nor do we support an installation of WordPress 3.0 and WPRemix 3.0, be forewarned.
As a recap of what came before, the 3.0 update of WPRemix became much more stable than ever before.
Here is the short list of the fixes & additions that were made to WP Remix 3.0
- All known code errors fixed.
- The send to editor function fixed.
- The seo options that the previous management began installing have been fixed.
- The ability to add custom links in navigation bar from the theme options area has been added.
- The ability to disable sidebars on any of the page templates.
Other features currently in progress which didn’t quite make it into the 3.0 update, but will be released in 4.0, here is the short list:
- Enabling comments on pages
- Fully widgetizing the sidebars
- Ability to upload and change header images via the theme admin
Obviously all WordPress themes are an on-going work in progress, WPRemix 4.0 is no exception. You have our continued commitment that WPRemix is here to stay while maintaining it’s prominent status as a “Premium” theme.
Things will improve very soon more that most would expect given some of the growing pains we inherited from the previous theme owners. Look for a lot of improvement in the visual end of support, we are currently working on 250+ video tutorials.
These tutorials have been mentioned casually in the forum from time to time and many months have gone by without any actual roll-out of the videos. Please be a bit more patient for these tutorials to be created, you will not be disappointed.
Communication most importantly will be more frequent and less confusing. What does that mean exactly? It means that the inconsistencies of information on our website will be corrected as well as all grammar. An Affiliates Quarterly Newsletter is being created as well as a separate Technical Bulletin newsletter for customers. These two newsletters alone will be a great enhancement and a proactive way of reaching out to all users of WPRemix.
Whether you are an Affiliate or Customer, please make sure that you “OPT-IN” when you see our newsletter in your email.
Sincerely,
Randy Brown

Hi All,
Paul here from the WP Remix team.
If you read the previous post on this blog you will know that an WP Remix update was mentioned almost 2 months ago. During this time a lot has changed behind the scenes at wpremix.
We previously outsourced the management of the wpremix.com website, the theme updates, and support to a company in the USA (We are based in the UK). However around a month ago after numerous complaints about this, we decided to bring everything in-house, with me taking control as manager of WP Remix.
Now I am in full control hopefully things will improve greatly here over the coming months. The release of WP Remix 3.0 is just the beginning of this.
Now onto the WP Remix theme update…
I recently hired a full time programmer called Tamil, and for the past 2 weeks he has been working to ensure the transition to WordPress 2.8 for WPRemix users, will be as easy as possible. As a result WP Remix 3.0 is fully functional on both WordPress 2.8 and 2.7.
As a result of the update, the Wpremix theme now comes with a tabbed theme options panel which you can see in the screen shot below:

Here is a list of the other fixes/additions included inside WP Remix 3.0
- All know code errors fixed.
- The send to editor function fixed.
- The seo options that the previous management began installing have been fixed.
- The ability to add custom links in navigation bar from the theme options area has been added.
- The ability to disable sidebars on any of the page templates.
Other features currently in progress which haven’t quite made it into this update, but will be released soon are:
- Enabling comments on pages
- Fully widgetizing the sidebars
- Ability to upload and change header images via the theme admin
Obviously we would have liked to get much more included, but our main priority this time around was to stabilize the functions that were already in the theme, and make sure WPRemix would be fully compatible with WordPress 2.8.
I hope you all enjoy using this new version of WP Remix and I look forward to reading your comments and feedback.
Paul
